While watching the movie: fantistic four rise of the silver surfer during the previews they show a interesting commercial on coke rewrds program. In it a bottle cap is rolling down the stairs of a commuter hub-what is noteworthy on this is that bottle cap is redeemable for prizes on the coke rewards program website. So as it rolls downs the stairs each person using it sees thiers hearts desire in that bottlecap some sees a laptap or a blockbuster rentals etc
This is what sin does exactly to us as it either seeks to further enslave us or tempt us to fall and turn away from God it masquerdes itself to each of us(hiding its poison, monstosity) according to our individual hearts desire SEEKING TO EXALT ITSELF ABOVE GOD AND hiding the reality it is nothing but a deck of cards,a jenga game or a desert mirage that when the storm comes it will collapse...
13But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called "today," that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. (hebrews 3:13)
casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,(2 COR 10:5)
23For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
(romans 6:23)
24"Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. 26And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it." (MATT 7:24-27)
24By faith Moses, when he was grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter, 25choosing rather to be mistreated with the people of God than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin. (hebrews 11:24-25)
20Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!
