child sex offenders

http://www.nydailynews.com/front/story/492689p-414864c.html
Children are a God given blessing and stewardship-so we must keep our eyes and ears open to the most defenseless. Just here i searched this website:
http://criminaljustice.state.ny.us/nsor/index.htm
and found at least ten child sex offenders within striking distance. So I am assuming whatever state or country you are in has this website service.

The cross has not become obsolete!

From that day the cross became "a power" in the earth;a power which went forth, like the light--noiselessly yet irresistibly--smiting down all religions alike, all shrines alike, all altars alike--sparing no superstition nor philosophy. This power remains--in its mystery, its silence, its influence,it remains. The cross has not become obsolete! The preaching of the cross has not ceased to be powerful andeffectual! There are those who would persuade us that, in this modern age--the cross is out of date and out of fashion, time-worn. But this shakes us not. It only leads us to clasp the cross more fervently, and to study it more profoundly, as embodying in itself that gospel which is at once the wisdom and the power of God.Yet the cross is not without its mysteries. It illuminates--yet it darkens. It is life--yet it is death. It is honor--yet it is shame. It is wisdom--but also foolishness. It is . . . both pardon and condemnation; both strength and weakness; both joy and sorrow; both love and hatred; both medicine and poison; both hope and despair. It is Christ's humiliation--yet it is His exaltation! It is Satan's victory--yet it is Satan's defeat! It is the gate of heaven--and the gate of hell! The cross is the key to God's character, His word, His ways, His purposes. It is the summary of all the Bible--the epitome of Revelation!

we are jonathan jayne and kenneth briggs

God does not look at us like american idol--for sin has left us undesirable,in filthy rags so we stand in the same shoes as jonathan jayne and kenneth briggs. And even though Jesus did not wear those shoes and clothes sin has given us-he knows how we feel-our struggles, our burdens.our tears.our broken dreams, our worries and our fears etc. (click on blue letters above)and Because of Him we jonathans and kennys are accepted before God.

2For [the Servant of God] grew up before Him like a tender plant, and like a root out of dry ground; He has no form or comeliness [royal, kingly pomp], that we should look at Him, and no beauty that we should desire Him.
3He was despised and rejected and forsaken by men, a Man of sorrows and pains, and acquainted with grief and sickness; and like One from Whom men hide their faces He was despised, and we did not appreciate His worth or have any esteem for Him.
4Surely He has borne our griefs (sicknesses, weaknesses, and distresses) and carried our sorrows and pains [of punishment], yet we [ignorantly] considered Him stricken, smitten, and afflicted by God [as if with leprosy].(B)
5But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our guilt and iniquities; the chastisement [needful to obtain] peace and well-being for us was upon Him, and with the stripes [that wounded] Him we are healed and made whole.
6All we like sheep have gone astray, we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord has made to light upon Him the guilt and iniquity of us all.(C)
7He was oppressed, [yet when] He was afflicted, He was submissive and opened not His mouth; like a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so He opened not His mouth.
8By oppression and judgment He was taken away; and as for His generation, who among them considered that He was cut off out of the land of the living [stricken to His death] for the transgression of my [Isaiah's] people, to whom the stroke was due?
9And they assigned Him a grave with the wicked, and with a rich man in His death, although He had done no violence, neither was any deceit in His mouth.(D)
10Yet it was the will of the Lord to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief and made Him sick. When You and He make His life an offering for sin [and He has risen from the dead, in time to come], He shall see His [spiritual] offspring, He shall prolong His days, and the will and pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in His hand.
11He shall see [the fruit] of the travail of His soul and be satisfied; by His knowledge of Himself [which He possesses and imparts to others] shall My [uncompromisingly] righteous One, My Servant, justify many and make many righteous (upright and in right standing with God), for He shall bear their iniquities and their guilt [with the consequences, says the Lord].
12Therefore will I divide Him a portion with the great [kings and rulers], and He shall divide the spoil with the mighty, because He poured out His life unto death, and [He let Himself] be regarded as a criminal and be numbered with the transgressors; yet He bore [and took away] the sin of many and made intercession for the transgressors (the rebellious).(E)

truth vs lies
Roamns 1:16-1716For I am not ashamed of the Gospel (good news) of Christ, for it is God's power working unto salvation [for deliverance from eternal death] to everyone who believes with a personal trust and a confident surrender and firm reliance, to the Jew first and also to the Greek,
17For in the Gospel a righteousness which God ascribes is revealed, both springing from faith and leading to faith [disclosed through the way of faith that arouses to more faith]. As it is written, The man who through faith is just and upright shall live and shall live by faith.(A)
amazing animals from God's awesome creation

2Praise Him, all His angels, praise Him, all His hosts!
3Praise Him, sun and moon, praise Him, all you stars of light!
4Praise Him, you highest heavens and you waters above the heavens!
5Let them praise the name of the Lord, for He commanded and they were created.
6He also established them forever and ever; He made a decree which shall not pass away [He fixed their bounds which cannot be passed over].
7Praise the Lord from the earth, you sea monsters and all deeps!
8You lightning, hail, fog, and frost, you stormy wind fulfilling His orders!
9Mountains and all hills, fruitful trees and all cedars!
10Beasts and all cattle, creeping things and flying birds!
Psalm 150:6
6Let everything that has breath and every breath of life praise the Lord! Praise the Lord! (Hallelujah!)

The doomsday clock
My thoughts on the doomsday clock in light of biblical prophecywherever you be amil, premil, postmil or panmil(like Me) we all agree from the bible:1. God is sovereign
2.Christ is Lord of creation.
3.Christ reigns now and evermore
4.Christ is coming
5.the last judgement
6.sin and death no more
7..creation restored
Charles Spurgeon, the London pastor from 100 years ago said,
?I believe that every particle of dust that dances in the sunbeam does not move an atom more or less than God wishes ? that every particle of spray that dashes against the steamboat has its orbit, as well as the sun in the heavens ? that the chaff from the hand of the winnower is steered as the stars in their courses. The creeping of an aphid over the rosebud is as much fixed as the march of the devastating pestilence ? the fall of . . . leaves from a poplar is as fully ordained as the tumbling of an avalanche.?
When Spurgeon was challenged that this is nothing but fatalism and stoicism, he replied,
?What is fate? Fate is this ? Whatever is, must be. But there is a difference between that and Providence. Providence says, Whatever God ordains, must be; but the wisdom of God never ordains anything without a purpose. Everything in this world is working for some great end. Fate does not say that. . . . There is all the difference between fate and Providence that there is between a man with good eyes and a blind man.
jeremiah 10:12-13
12It is he who made the earth by his power, who established the world by his wisdom, and by his understanding stretched out the heavens. 13When he utters his voice, there is a tumult of waters in the heavens, and he makes the mist rise from the ends of the earth. He makes lightning for the rain, and he brings forth the wind from his storehouses.
jeremiah 14:22
22Are there any among the false gods of the nations that can bring rain? Or can the heavens give showers? Are you not he, O LORD our God? We set our hope on you, for you do all these things.
daniel 2:20-23
20Daniel answered and said: "Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, to whom belong wisdom and might. 21He changes times and seasons; he removes kings and sets up kings;he gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding; 22he reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what is in the darkness, and the light dwells with him. 23To you, O God of my fathers, I give thanks and praise, for you have given me wisdom and might, and have now made known to me what we asked of you, for you have made known to us the king's matter."
Wii tragedy
Some quick thought on this senseless/mindless/foolish tragedy: (click on blueletters to go to link)1. The radio station and its employees had the God-given resposibility if not that a moral resposibility to make sure that all its contests, stunts are safe.
luke 10:25
And behold, a lawyer stood up to put him to the test, saying, "Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?" 26He said to him, "What is written in the Law? How do you read it?" 27And he answered, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself." 28And he said to him, "You have answered correctly; do this, and you will live."
29But he, desiring to justify himself, said to Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?" 30Jesus replied, "A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he fell among robbers, who stripped him and beat him and departed, leaving him half dead. 31Now by chance a priest was going down that road, and when he saw him he passed by on the other side. 32So likewise a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. 33But a Samaritan, as he journeyed, came to where he was, and when he saw him, he had compassion. 34He went to him and bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he set him on his own animal and brought him to an inn and took care of him. 35And the next day he took out two denarii[a] and gave them to the innkeeper, saying, 'Take care of him, and whatever more you spend, I will repay you when I come back.' 36Which of these three, do you think, proved to be a neighbor to the man who fell among the robbers?" 37He said, "The one who showed him mercy." And Jesus said to him, "You go, and do likewise."

Christian American Idol

22Claiming to be wise, they became fools, 23and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles.
24Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves,
25because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.
26For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; 27and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.

2 corinthians 10:3-6
The world is unprincipled. It's dog-eat-dog out there! The world doesn't fight fair. But we don't live or fight our battles that way—never have and never will. The tools of our trade aren't for marketing or manipulation, but they are for demolishing that entire massively corrupt culture. We use our powerful God-tools for smashing warped philosophies, tearing down barriers erected against the truth of God, fitting every loose thought and emotion and impulse into the structure of life shaped by Christ. Our tools are ready at hand for clearing the ground of every obstruction and building lives of obedience into maturity.
1 samuel 17:45-46
David answered, "You come at me with sword and spear and battle-ax. I come at you in the name of God-of-the-Angel-Armies, the God of Israel's troops, whom you curse and mock. This very day God is handing you over to me. I'm about to kill you, cut off your head, and serve up your body and the bodies of your Philistine buddies to the crows and coyotes. The whole earth will know that there's an extraordinary God in Israel. And everyone gathered here will learn that God doesn't save by means of sword or spear. The battle belongs to God—he's handing you to us on a platter!"
psalms 44:6-8
You're my King, O God— command victories for Jacob! With your help we'll wipe out our enemies, in your name we'll stomp them to dust. I don't trust in weapons; my sword won't save me— But it's you, you who saved us from the enemy; you made those who hate us lose face. All day we parade God's praise— we thank you by name over and over
isaiah 31:3
3Doom to those who go off to Egypt thinking that horses can help them,Impressed by military mathematics, awed by sheer numbers of chariots and riders—And to The Holy of Israel, not even a glance, not so much as a prayer to God.Still, he must be reckoned with, a most wise God who knows what he's doing. He can call down catastrophe. He's a God who does what he says.He intervenes in the work of those who do wrong, stands up against interfering evildoers.Egyptians are mortal, not God, and their horses are flesh, not Spirit. When God gives the signal, helpers and helped alike will fall in a heap and share the same dirt grave.
Monergism has a good list of reference articles(click on link)but i feel it is a neglected topic on their site and should be expanded way further-since for a solidly biblically/theologically reformed church, denomination person seeking/preaching/teaching/proclaiming social justice ia the expressive/applicatory of a solid biblically/reformed theology....
