(And  you hear crickets  or if you are puerto rican like me you hear coquis when repentance  turning away from your sinful life  is  proclaimed. )

People rather prefer  a quick fix for their problems keep their sins. Than

Solving the main  problem that may have created,nurtured and sustained  those problems:their sinful nature

By  embracing  Christ.   Who died for their sinful. Nature. And those problems

Offering. Them.  A new life in him  where those problems may or may not disappear

But now you  Have Grace,hope to meet each day...

Which god is more appealing

Which God is more appealing?

1 .A god that forgives sin and changes lives like the ancient practice of indulgences. Of baptizing when you near death yet carry your heart embraced sins--- it stops there. And goes no further.......

Or

2. A God of the bible which forgives sins which changes lives but. Starts and contuines . From and goes on from there to sanctification and finally glorification

 demands repentance and  a changed life yet a life that seeks to fight sin  obey God....

Which gets the more amens...   In today's church?    Which. Will be more salt.  See history after the Roman Empire made christainity  the state religion.     How the church became the more appealing....

Same today when we present or not present the gospel in its totality.....

The power of bible study

Forming a bible study  specifically for non christians is not necessary for where the gospel is taught and lived out by believers the Holy spirit uses its light in the darkness to draw them to Christ......
This quote came about  when a leader want to form a bible study in the house then later backed out if it was formed without non christian in mind...

Alexader the Great and the Gospel

Alexander, after conquering many kingdoms, was returning home. On the way, he fell ill and it took him to his death bed. With death staring him in his face, Alexander realized how his conquests, his great army, his sharp sword and all his wealth were of no use.


He now longed to reach home to see his mother’s face and bid her adieu. But, he had to accept the fact that his sinking health would not permit him to reach his distant homeland. So, the mighty conqueror lay prostrate and pale, helplessly waiting to breathe his last. He called his generals and said, “I will depart from this world soon, I have three wishes, please carry them out without fail.” With tears flowing down their cheeks, the generals agreed to abide by their king’s last wishes.


“My first desire is that”, said Alexander, “My physicians alone must carry my coffin.” After a pause, he continued, “Secondly, I desire that when my coffin is being carried to the grave, the path leading to the graveyard be strewn with gold, silver and precious stones which I have collected in my treasury”. The people who had gathered there wondered at the king’s strange wishes. But no one dared bring the question to their lips. I want my physicians to carry my coffin because people should realize that No doctor on this earth can really cure anybody. They are powerless and cannot save a person from the clutches of death. So let not people take life for granted.

I sometimes wonder?

I sometimes wonder when a church  holds fundraising activities right after thesday service and sometimes even during. That it  may be similiar to Jesus's clearing out the temple of the money changers etc.

Ipad and other tablets(as well as smartphones)in Church worship

   I was the first and only in the church I an attending to first use the ipad in the worship. I only use the Bible app,Evernote and  commentaries while the bible reading and preaching only. The scriptures  that pertain to its proper usage are:

All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not be dominated by anything.( 1cor 6:12)

 So when I use the Ipad I apply these Biblical principles:
  A. Use it properly not use other apps to draw me away from worship.
   
  B. If a yunger christain, a older christain set in their ways or children-not to use the ipad but a  physical Bible and notebook..
 
 C.  Use the ipad to lead you to Christ and not away from Christ by filling it with apps that are aids and not hinderances encouraging you in particular sins or just the sin of wasting time.etc

Pediasure and the gospel

My little three year old son loves pediasure. We keep them on top of the refrigerator. He threw a tantrum one day wanting his pediasure. Asking and pleading with me as he looked up seeing his precious pediasure. This got me to realize that we should be like my son not with tantrums but:

1. But in prayer plead and beg with God

2.To depend on God to provide what is best for us (May not be pediasure we want but it will be something better or something we exactky need at that momment)
